In Delhi Master Plan 2041 Affordable Housing And Restoration Gets Priority

The proposed Master Plan of Delhi, the national capital 2041 has given major priority to affordable housing. Even the government has released various schemes to promote the concept of affordable housing. The rental accommodation, Greenfield area development and restoration of dilapidated buildings across Delhi are also covered under this proposed plan.


In the updated released draft for the Master Plan of Delhi 2041, the major areas will be affordable rental housing for sale in Delhi. Along with that, there are other concerns also that takes into consideration such as small format housing, residential areas with adequate facilities, and restoration and rejuvenation of old buildings.


To foster more developments in Delhi, the draft for master plan has been designed and has accommodated the present needs. It has the entire plan that how Delhi will achieve the desired development over a span of 20 years.




DDA that stands for Delhi Development Authority has designed the master plan. They have further put it up in the public domain to invite the suggestions and recommendations.


As per the drafted document it says that a large number of localities in Delhi were developed between 1940 and 1970, resulting in old built stock. Now, their dilapidated and weak structures are in the need for restoration and retrofitting.


Thus, this master plan will use the strategy the strategy of planning and designing tool for renewing and regeneration the aging stock. In addition to this, over 30 percent of the population is migrants and prefer rental housing due to low entry and exit costs. Therefore, this master plan will also address the concern relating to rental housing sphere such as tenure insecurity, compromised living conditions and issues related to student housing.


It will completely and further transform Delhi.
